Sorry that I had to start this Blog but this was something that needed to be said out loud. First of all I want to thank my supporters such as Metromix Detroit, Ebony Bunny Entertainment and Platinum Elite as a whole for their continued support and hard work to create and event for Detroit hat has never been done. Secondly, I want to put an acknowledgement out there about Detroit, the media and it's so called supporters. It was so amazing to see how much of the media and radio refused to broadcast, interview, attend or even acknowledge this event. Detroit Black Bike Weekend was for Detroit and the riders that ride those "Till Death Do Us Part" Streets that are not paved for the average rider to enjoy. Platinum Elite extended it's hand to all those who are in a position to put this event on Blast and do something big for the city, yet refused. This was not an event Sponsored by some top notched dealership nor was it funded by ANY corporations or those in the motorcycle business. Makes you wonder where you spend your money and how you are actually valued in the community. It's a shame that people are so quick to hop a plane and run to Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach and Daytona where there is thousands of people and police waiting to annoy you cause you are Black. When the very same individuals, groups, clubs etc., could have come to a local event and support one of there own. It was amazing though that we had guest ride their bikes from Chi-Town. Hummmmm..... I wonder if it did not have the word "BLACK" in it would more corporations have been more reluctant to sponsor it? Then people complain about why people are leaving Detroit. In addition to no jobs, where the hell is the fun going? You would think that they would be supportive to be having an entertainment company invest their own time and money into an event for everyone to enjoy, not the case. The same with many other event websites. They have events listed all over the world, yet they refused to pay attention to this one or any other Detroit event for that matter. Then after the event was over, everyone who saw the aftermath, now can't wait for next years Detroit Black Bike Weekend of events. There are motorcycle dealerships and bike shops in the city that many of you frequent daily, that would not even think about providing donations to this event, (if you wanna know who they are just email me). Black people, we need to pay attention to where we spend our hard earned money! It's amazing how so many people send me invites to their events, yet these very same people could not support the company they seek attendance from. No need to call names, you know who you are. And if you know me, then you know the show went on with or with out you, the media, the radio and all those others ones, and we could not have had more fun.
